CrewNest Job Pricing MCP server

Last updated: October 2, 2026

What it is

CrewNest Job Pricing is a public MCP server. Connect it to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client and it answers "what should I charge" and "how much does it cost" for seven field-service jobs. Every figure comes from the same formulas as CrewNest's public calculators, and each answer cites the calculator page and the date the figures were checked.

It covers lawn mowing, snow plowing, pressure washing, roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, driveway sealing and landscaping (sod, mulch, topsoil, gravel, paver sealing).

Endpoint

https://www.crewnest.app/api/mcp

  • Transport: MCP streamable HTTP.
  • Sessions: stateless. Each request stands alone.
  • Authentication: none. There is no sign-in and no API key.

Tools

All three tools are read-only. They are annotated readOnlyHint: true, destructiveHint: false and openWorldHint: false.

estimate_service_price

Prices one job. Use it for questions like "what should I charge to mow a 7,000 sq ft lawn every week".

Inputs. service is required and must be one of lawn_mowing, snow_plowing, pressure_washing, roof_cleaning, gutter_cleaning, driveway_sealing or landscaping. Everything else is optional. A missing size falls back to the calculator's default, and the answer lists that in its assumptions. sqft is the area in square feet (lawn, surface, roof, driveway, or a commercial lot for snow). The other parameters by service:

  • lawn_mowing: sqft, lawn_type, frequency, terrain or obstacles
  • snow_plowing: property_type, pricing_model, pushes_per_season or sqft
  • pressure_washing: sqft, surface or stain_level
  • roof_cleaning: sqft, roof_material, cleaning_method, contamination, roof_pitch or stories
  • gutter_cleaning: linear_feet, stories, debris, downspouts or gutter_guards
  • driveway_sealing: sqft, driveway_material, sealer, driveway_condition or coats
  • landscaping: lines

For landscaping, lines is a list of up to 10 items. Each has an item (sod, mulch, topsoil, gravel or paver_sealing), its sqft, and an optional type and depth_in.

Returns. A low, typical and high price; the unit (per visit, per push, per season or per job); range_basis, which says exactly what low and high mean; other figures the calculator shows; assumptions; the inputs_used; line items for landscaping; citations with page URL and checked date; breakdown_url, the calculator page with the full breakdown; and open_in_crewnest_url, which opens the estimate as a quote in CrewNest.

lookup_price_benchmark

Returns the cited price ranges CrewNest publishes for one topic. Use it for going-rate questions such as the price of rock salt per bag.

Inputs. service, one of snow_removal, deicer_material, pressure_washing, lawn_care or landscape_material. query is an optional word to narrow the rows, such as "sidewalk" or "calcium".

Returns. rows with service, low, high, unit, an optional note, the source page URL and its checked date, plus a line explaining what the rows are.

list_supported_services

Lists what the server can price. It takes no input.

Returns. Each service with its label and calculator URL, the benchmark topics, what is out of scope, and the date the figures were checked.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports streamable HTTP can connect to the same URL with no authentication.

Example prompts

  • How much should I charge to plow a 2-car driveway in Toronto?
  • What should I charge to mow a 7,000 sq ft lawn every week?
  • How much should I charge to clean 180 feet of gutters on a 2-story home with 4 downspouts?
  • How much does it cost to pressure wash a 600 square foot driveway?
  • What's the going rate per bag for calcium chloride ice melt?

Limits

  • Read-only. The tools look up and calculate prices. They never create, change or delete anything.
  • Rate limits. 30 requests a minute for a caller the client identifies (ChatGPT sends an anonymous per-user id), and 200 a minute shared by callers known only by IP address. Over the limit, the server answers HTTP 429 and asks you to try again shortly.
  • No regional, currency or tax adjustment. Prices are dollar figures exactly as CrewNest's public calculators show them.
  • Not covered:
    • Material-only shopping lists or quantities (bags, pallets, tons) without a job price.
    • A business's own inventory, cost or custom rate pricing.
    • Services not in list_supported_services (e.g. tree removal, HVAC, painting, plumbing).
    • Sales tax, regional or currency adjustments.
    • Finding, booking or contacting a contractor.

Privacy

  • No login. The server has no accounts and asks for no personal details.
  • Your inputs are not stored. Nothing you type into a tool is saved or logged.
  • No IP addresses or user ids are stored. The server uses the caller's IP address, or the anonymous id ChatGPT sends, only as a rate-limit key. It hashes the key first and keeps it for one minute as a counter.
  • Anonymous usage counts only. Each tool call records the tool name, the service, whether it worked, the time it took, which kind of client called it (for example ChatGPT or Claude), and a fixed error code when it failed.
  • If you open the open_in_crewnest_url link, that is an ordinary visit to crewnest.app and the site's normal analytics apply.

The full detail is in the CrewNest privacy policy.
